I'd say he did pretty well considering the circumstances. Avoiding nuclear war on numerous occasions should always be appreciated.

In case anyone's forgotten (which on this site is unlikely), it's actually Constitutionally prohibited for both people on the ticket to have the same state of residence (hence Cheney's return to Wyoming after an absence of more than a decade).
