If you dare discuss the health benefits of any food or natural substance while you are selling such items, you will be branded a criminal by the FDA, threatened with criminal prosecution and potentially have your company raided by the FDA along with armed law enforcement agents with guns drawn.

Yes, I'm sure guns will be drawn over the classification of walnuts.  Roll Eyes

Healthy foods like walnuts are technically drugs in the sense the FDA appears to be calling them.  The reason processed foods are so unhealthy is actually because they are stripped of all nutrients and phytochemicals, most of which are active pharmaceutical ingredients.  For example, it's not recommended to eat a diet high in fresh garlic while on heart medications as it will react negatively, but garlic powder is okay.

Why is this anything to get outraged about? Yes, FDA regulations can be kind of silly, but all the walnut manufacturers really needed to do was put, "This statement has not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. This product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease" somewhere on the packaging.
