First, I am not going to make a long victory speech, because my term is only one month.

I would like to thank all those who voted for me.  Everybody thought I was going to lose in a landslide, but we pulled it out.  For the short time I am in the Senate, I promise to serve D1 well.

I would also like to congratulate Andrew on a hard fought campaign.

Thank you.

Everyone said you couldn't get elected. You did.
The general perception is you will not be a good Senator. Take advantage of the opportunity. Don't propose anything, but participate in discussion.

Congratulations, Senator.

P.S. Andrew's "statement" was 10x longer than TrueDemocrat's "speech" :-/

I'm not a fan of that; though every thing I've done i'm never had "Senator" or "Presidential Candidate" or "GM"-it is unneccesary ego boosting, imho.

That said, EVERYONE does it, kinda peeves me.

as I said, ego-boosting. Plus, I am an ordinary citizen-yes I have held some 'prominent' positions, but I define myself by myself, not by my office Tongue

I know, I was attempting to make a lame joke.

And I failed miserably at that.

Now look what you've done to me!  *sobs*

Some people even put "So and so Candidate" in...now that really shows off a worryingly low sense of self-esteem.
But now that I finally hold an elective position, I've put it in too...

Or some folks put in positions in their title that have no relevance or official duties at all.

Putting in "Senator" is helpful, however. When the Senate is casting its votes and debating, it makes it easier to identify who is speaking and voting from an official capacity, and who is merely an interested observer.

HEY! The Pacific Lt.Gov. has official duties! It's my job now to set up the Pacific voting booths. Smiley

I actually was referring to a certain Texas registrant, but now that you point it out, you aren't far behind. :-)

Oh. Sad to hear that!

Last time when I checked you was ahead. I thought that the poll had been closed already.

And congrats to True Democrat.
