As a native Long Islander, I'm glad it was soundly defeated.

I remember reading that turnout was supposed to be tiny. What was it?

The team should move to the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.  While the capacity would be less than ideal, the location is perfect.  LIRR hub and multiple subways.  The Nets and Isles shared a facility decades back and should marry up again.  I wouldnt mind seeing the crazy Russian buying the team as well.

It shouldn't have even come to this.  Lighthouse Project was the way to go.

Exactly! This is all the fault of Kate Murray and the GOP in the Town of Hempstead. I have a hunch that they're all gone in November.

Hopefully, but unfortunately the Town of Hempstead GOP machine is extremely strong much like the Nassau County GOP machine was up until the late 90's.
