Bay of Pigs was a useful excuse to get rid of him. The brothers wanted to run SpecOps themselves, and this was the POD which had RFK become deeply involved in foreign policy.

You can't deny that the Bay of Pigs happened, though.  I mean, it was a catastrophic failure of policy.  Had it not happened, it could've been harder to fire Dulles.
