Suppose in 1992, Bill Clinton picks Ann Richards as his running mate instead of Al Gore. What do you think the results will turn out to be. Note: I can't do the maps very well. Please help me in that area.

Also, what do you think a 1996 victory would look like? We know that the Democrats will win, but what would be the results with Richards in the VP Slot?

I don't think the 92 map would be so different. Maybe by bringing Bush down a little Richardson actually helps Perot win Texas.

As for map making

1. go to the evc button on the top of the page.
2. scroll to the bottom and pick the year you want to use. then click "retrieve"
3. Pick a winner for all the states
4. Click "Update Map and ev totals"
5. Click "Show map link"

When the box comes up Highlight everything with your cursor. then click copy. Go to the thread you want to place the map in and click Reply. And then paste the map text in the reply box.

If someone can explain this better, Please do. Smiley

for the maps, click here Wink

https://uselectionatlas.org/TOOLS/evcalc.php

and here's my prediction:

Clinton 458 evs
Bush 80 evs

But, Richards could have been a bad VP option, too:

Clinton 280
Bush 255
Perot 3

Suppose, for instance, that Bush had served for 2 terms, getting elected in 84 after 2 terms as Reagan's VP*. Who would be the nominee then, and how would they fare up? In the meantime, what would the electoral count be for Clinton/Richards in 1996?

*This scenario is based on RFK surviving his attempt in 1968, being elected to 2 terms, and Reagan being elected in 1976 to succeed him, with Bush as a running mate.

Wrong Maine electoral college district went for Perot. It was the second district that was in love with H. Ross, not the first. Other than that, both maps seem to be good. Ann Richards would've definitely helped in her home state and with women.

Anyone have an idea who the opponents would be for Clinton/Richards in 1996? Would it be Dole/Kemp like TTL or someone different instead?
