Feminist rally with nclib, of course.  But, it kinda depends on what kind.

Feminist rally, because feminist girls 1) put out and 2) aren't racists.

Depends.  The hypocritical "I want to be payed the same, but I shouldn't have to be drafted and a man should still buy me dinner" kind are probably less likely to "put out" than the awesome I Can't Believe She's Not a Lesbian kind.

Well, yes, that's true. There are basically two kinds of feminist, one of which is just the crazy sexist toward men feminists, who are of course bad, and then the very aptly named "I Can't Believe She's Not a Lesbian Kind", who are generally really cool, very liberal, and don't have the average puritanical, anti-sex hangups.

The man buying dinner thing is what I hate.  I don't mind buying my girlfriend dinnner, but if a girl demands/expects it every time, that gets annoying.  Fortunately my current girlfriend has insisted on paying for half the date the past few times (I buy dinner, she buys the movie, etc.).

I'd prefer the neo-confederate rally, as long as it's not an overtly racist demonstration or some such thing.

I'd prefer the kind of feminist rally that the rest of you probably wouldn't. The 'Awesome I Can't Believe She's Not a Lesbian' kind seem significantly less awesome when most of one's closest friends are, in fact, lesbians, and ones who act kind of like a cross between nuns in heavy-handed Zen parables and Juri from Shoujo Kakumei Utena at that. These people are absolutely amazing and tend to be incredibly high-minded, idealistic, and brave. Better than either side of the false dichotomy of feminism presented above by far. I so don't get sexuals.

People who have sex as a primary or particularly major interest in life. I don't get them.

If an object lesson in what exactly the alternative that I do get is would help, I could tell a truncated, names-changed version of the story of the time when my best friend verbally steamrolled somebody into hysterical tears for implying that she would rather have sex with him than go to an Upstairs, Downstairs marathon in her dorm. (I honestly think she was a little excessive, but it's still a fairly decent example.)

Neither do I.  I'm quasi-asexual.

Same here!

Fistbump?

Anyway, I'd rather go to the feminist thing, but my point was that the subvariety of feminist who I like and get along with is different from that described by a lot of the people in this thread and doesn't really involve their willingness or non-willingness to have sex with me (or, if it does, does in the other direction, since people wanting to have sex with me unless we are very, very close really weirds me out).

(I still don't want to if I AM very close with the person, but it's not so disturbing to me then. But I digress.)

Wow, what is going on here? People celebrating their asexuality (i.e. having no opportunity)?

I...have more opportunity for sex than I want (and less opportunity for love, since I'm a woeful judge of character in straight/bi girls).

Not against asexuality or anything, but that's far from the only issue in this poll.

I know, I just got sidetracked.

The point is it would depend on the type of feminism.

Yes, what kind did you have in mind nclib?  The "SlutWalk" kind or the "smash patriarchy" kind?  Tongue

I was thinking the 'I am a daughter of the mountain wind. No man gives me rights or beneficies. I make rights and beneficies, beneath the Eye of Heaven' kind. i.e. the 'both sluts and patriarchy are beneath my contempt' kind.

(That's from my friend Catherine, who was awesome and one of my favourite people in the world until she went insane for unrelated reasons. Still, good times.)

pretty much. I'd be more interested to hear their perspective on history than some feminist slogans that are pretty boring at this point.
