I'm curious to see the evolution following the debt ceiling debate.

Pretty clearly a failed President.

I can't possibly approve of someone who time and time again refuses to draw and then stand by any lines in the sand. He refuses to stake out a position and stick to it literally every single time there is controversy over any given issue.

That's how I feel as well. I thought he learnt the lesson following the health care debate, instead he's become even more spineless.

I'm pretty fed up as a liberal...

However I will still end up voting for him in 2012.

Somewhat approve. You certainly have to take the opposition into account to put things in perspective.

Strongly approve.  There is nothing he could do about the debt limit issue.

Sure, he's a right winger, and perhaps 'failed' (though obviously it was the american people who failed by electing republicans in 2010), but you have to grade on a curve - any Democrat will always warrant a 'strongly approve' given the alternative.

They don't understand the american political system and have unrealistic expectations.

I thought he was a war criminal financed by financial criminals years ago and I still do. Of course the same will be true doubtlessly of whoever replaces him.

This might be the first time that I find something that opebo said to be completely correct and logical.

I think I should call it a day.

He is not man enough to be a leader when the situations get tough. He is okay with some things.

Needless to say I do not like him one bit

Nice. First his citizenship, now his masculinity.

Although I will be volunteering/maybe working for his campaign in 2012. As much as I've grown to loathe the man's posturing and "political calculus", he's the only alternative to crippling austerity and the destruction of our social safety net.

I am a fan of him capitulating, though I must still disapprove.

Somewhat approve.

I hate how he concedes too much and he hasn't fulfilled some of my expectations. But I am also a realist and figure this would happen especially after November 2010 and considering the fact that the GOP cares more about making him a one termer and see him fail than fulfilling the promises he has done well under such extreme circumstances. Either way I will probably volunteer some time to see him be reelected because the alternative would pretty much destroy the country.

Remember the good old days of Jimmy Carter?

Can we bring back Bill Clinton?

Absolute total failure - A complete disaster.

It's amazing. The reason why I disapprove of him is because he is so liberal, yet it seems much of his liberal base thinks he isn't liberal enough.

Please stop comparing Obama to Jimmy Carter, it's becoming tiresome.

So presumably, you disapproved of Bush Jr. too.

They're going to have absolutely nothing to say in Charlotte 12 months from now other than "look at how stupid/crazy/hypocritical the Republicans are." Meanwhile, there's not a single segment of the population the Republicans can't appeal to if they do it right. If only US history had writers and we could pull a Matt Santos out of our ass Tongue

Eh, we'll be much better off without him. Imagine how much better the 2014 elections will be without President Obama.

Exactly. Carter is the last President we had who was any good.
