Shouldn't he wait to see if he has a district to run in first?

My understanding is many people thought he'd announce a few months ago, but he waited for that very reason.  He might have learned something we don't know, either way I'm glad he's running.

Matt Doheny, the rich, self-funding Republican from Alexandria Bay who failed to defeat Bill Owens in NY-23 in 2010 has been campaigning in Onondaga County, too. If the county is split between multiple districts, it's tough to say which district Maffei will be running in (or what it will be like).

If Syracuse is left whole, though, Maffei has a very good chance to re-take his seat. I could see him defeating Buerkle by >10% margin.

Maybe, that was the Klingon announcement. The English announcement was this week.

The real scandal in Washington is not the bribery, corruption, or sex. It is how poorly we are governed.
