You can find the info here

This is not the same as voting behavior of course (particularly for POTUS). The Dems lead by 7% or something in West Virginia.

I like the more detailed information on ideological breakdown. Pennsylvania's moderates outnumber conservatives by only 0.1%!

Well, that's interesting. The Democratic advantage in Massachusetts fell from +34% in 2008 to +20% in 2011.

Wow, I'm somewhat surprise but then I forget how unpopular Deval Patrick is down there.

Arkansas was coming soon... and it sadly did.

Vermont has about equal numbers of conservatives and liberals (about 30 percent for each).

Did they measure ideology? I didn't see that.

Oh, lots of data there, thanks!

Yeah, VT split but still has the highest number of liberals of any state.  Nationally, moderates and conservatives each outnumber liberals by nearly 2:1, as the number of Republicans and conservatives are pretty close. There are states such as NH, AK, UT and WY where the GOP outnumbers conservative ID, and states like WV, MS and NM where conservatives outnumber GOP. There's no state where liberal ID comes anywhere close to Democrats.

I'd say it's a Patrick/Obama combo. If you're familiar with Massachusetts politics, you know that this state is far more Democratic that it has right to be on virtue of the number of conservatives here. There are areas of the state that will go 70% for Brown but vote to re-elect their Dem state rep.

Or, at least, there were. A lot of those areas went GOP in 2010, accounting for the near doubling of GOP state reps.

Very depressing.

Blue = conservatives
Green = moderates
Red = Liberals

Goes to show how "liberal" has become a bad word in so many places in America, even though many Americans don't know what the word actually means.

I don't know what "liberals" are depressed about. They're always calling themselves "moderates" (or implying they are) especially their pundits like O'Donnell, Matthews, Stewart (kind of), etc. and lecturing us on civility, compromise, pragmatism.... If "liberals" are "moderates," why are they so shocked that "moderates" are the overwhelming amount of blue state voters? And in terms of actual programs they have a point. Big government programs like social security, medicare, medicaid, etc. are the new center and have been since about 1970. To argue for actual cuts (not slowed spending increases) in any of those is to take a stance "far right" of most of the geriatrics in the Tea Party never mind most of the public. For "liberals" to be complaining about how these poll numbers are more proof of how FAR RIGHT America is now is like crying because your daddy just got you a free sundae, instead of one with nuts (when you're allergic to nuts).

Stop being silly. Slowing spending increases is far-right!  Slowing the rate at which the increases increase is perhaps "civil" enough to be discussed, but still dangerously radical.
