Depends on the environment. Joe Lunchbucket is the type that the Democrats have been losing for the past few years, and need to gain back in order to not become the party of Hollywood and urban elites. Romney is also somewhat toxic to these types (being like their asshole boss), and in a close election may be among the few groups with which Obama does better.

Clearly the poor, oppressed white man son of a Governor who had to work to inherit his entire life just to put food on the table over yet another African American elitist who does not understand the needs of the working class.

Depends on his race or ethnicity. But probably default to Romney because the economy is terrible & Obama sucks at populist messaging.

In 2012?  Romney, by a hair.

In 2008?  Obama.

Working class people hate the business pricks, but in bad times they want a business prick running the economy.
