I have a mid 2007 20" iMac
Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4 Ghz with 800mhz fsb
4gb RAM
500GB Hard Drive
ATI 2600 HD 256MB graphics card

I run both WinXP and Mac OS X Lion (10.7) on this machine and use Steam for my gaming.

How about you?  What's your setup?

I built myself a computer for Windows/Gaming to plug it into my TV.

Coolermaster CM Storm case
Quad Core i5-2500k overclocked to 4.1GHz
8GB RAM (Plan to go to 16GB eventually)
Radeon HD 6870 1GB (an amazing card for the price.. only the 6850 is a better value, but it is slower as well).
1TB HD.. plan to have an mSata solid state drive for smart caching.
DVD Burner

That all cost me about $700.  The DVD burner was free and I got deals on everything.  My case came with a 650 watt power supply.

But I pretty much only use it for gaming because I really really really hate Windows.  Plus the screen is too big (32").

I plan on buying either a MacBook Air or a Mini to have for everything else.

The Socket 1366 i7s and related chipsets can support something like 24 or 32 GB or ram...the newest i7s...different socket (1155?) who knows...
They support 32GB... 4 DIMM slots at 8GB a piece.  Though i suspect it will work with 16GB sticks when those become mainstream.

The new i5s are a great value...pretty damn good performance.  It probably beats my half generation older i7 930...which is actually a favorite for enthusiasts (not as much as the 920, but still pretty popular)...if I ever actually sit down and build a system...which I may in the near future...I'd go with that chip...especially if I wanted a gaming system.
Yeah, my system can take pretty much any game I throw at it on max settings.

I figured the i7-2600k wasn't really needed and I needed the extra $100.  Now they're charging $369 for the 2700K.. what a rip off.  The i5-2500k is the best value of any intel chip pretty much.
