Had to order a desktop...

Intel Core i7 930 (@2.8 Ghz)
12GB SDRAM
2TB HDD
Ati Radeon 6870 1GB Video
Bluray/DVD/CD RW

24in widescreen display

Thoughts on an Solid State Drive?  Worth it?  Configuration above too bottlenecked to take advantage?
That's a lot of RAM.  I haven't used a Solid State drive at home yet and only a few at work and never running the OS off of one....which I would assume would be the main advantage?  I don't know a lot about them yet.

Main Box:
Triple Core AMD 2.3Ghz
4Gig Ram
1TB HD
Radeon 4830 512MB
DVD burner
Win7

Ubuntu Box:
Dual Core Intel of some kind
4 gig
500G HD
PCIx video card of some kind..cheap one
DVD burner

A coupe of laptops of not TOO distant vintage.  A couple of MacBooks during the school year.
