Looking deeper, it seems that NC goes to Perry and Colorado to Romney (minus Palin)

I find it odd that the headline says Perry is leading, but the numbers you post show him tied with Romney in both.

The Colorado poll is not worth crap. 40,000 people will vote, less will become the delegates that actually choose who we are giving our delegates to. Not the 1 million Republican voters in the state

"Perry surges to the top" could be also understood as "Perry becomes a co-front-runner".
