How did Hitler force this powerful scientist to leave his country? Did he come across many difficulties on the way to the US? Then why didn't the funny actor Chaplin get the American nationality?

Einstein actually was in America (guest professorship at Princeton) when Hitler took power. Also, he didn't need US citizenship when he took it, he was already a citizen of Switzerland. (His German citizenship was revoked by the nazis.)
