Yes, more name changes! They are fun. ;-)

I'm just in a contrarian mood.

I can't handle it.

First Beef changes his name, which threw me off enough and then, everyone just copies him.  I don't know who you people are.  And King keeps switching states which makes things even more confusing.

Actually Alcon , was the first to do the variable State of the day thingy.  King is just imitating him there.

It is rather annoying.....if you change your name or your state of residence......please state in your signature, or  in your personal text (as irishdem did). At least announce that you are changing something. It is confusing.

Yeah...it's nice if your signature says, "The artist formerly known as [insert former name here]"

I stopped changing states when the novelty of having a D-WY avatar got old, which was pretty quickly.

I don't mind name changes or avatar changes as long as I can tell who they originally are. Changing the avatar and the name at the same time, especially if there is a party change, confuses poor Alcon.

I am proud to say that I have been named "Liberty" from the moment I registered on and have never changed my avatar either. In fact, I never even changed it to "Secretary of State Liberty" or "Associate Justice Liberty", I simply put them in my signature.

I don't like name changes. I agree with Chris.

But titles are fine.

I've never changed my name, and my avatar only once (when I was on vacation, and I indicated that in my signature).

You can tell who people are by clicking on their screen name and thus viewing their profile. The original name that your had, that your account is regsitered under, is still shown there.

I know that.  It is still annoying.

A screen name is just like a real name.  After a while, you start to think of that person by that name.  You associate certain characteristic with that name.  When people change that, they might as well be a different person.

I agree. It was getting very bad earlier, Ilikeverin changed his name to King and put on a blue California avatar. People pretending to be others is getting to be a bit much...

When all was said and done, I was Ilikeverin, King was me, and Ilikeverin was King.  I, for one, found it amusing. Cheesy

But yes, I agree with what Supersoulty said: your screen name is essentially your real name on the internet, and changing it essentially is like changing your real name.  That's why I've basically had the same name on the internet for six years.
