All of this ignores that Gathafi enormously strengthened Islam in Libya and sent fighters to Iraq and Afghanistan. Which didn't stop GWB's administration from allying with him.

But Time is telling you what the Egyptian street really thinks, and not what you think it thinks.

and Time knows that all those opinion polls of Muslim street, which jmfcst is leaning on, are dead wrong, correct?

So once again how does that make them worse than Gaddafi? He made the flag the color of Islam!

Gaddafi is a single punk, but we had him in a box.  Now we have millions of punks running loose in north Africa, and Obama is probably dying to send them money to help them be bigger punks.

From millions of punks rises a single punk, perhaps less punkish than the former punk-in-chief.

Do you think the NTC will stab the West in the back and sponsor terrorist attacks against the West a la Gaddafi? Or do you think the NTC will itself be overthrown and rendered an irrelevant force?

Since jmfcst wants to base his entire argument on an out of context photo, let me retort:

Yeah they totally look like they're going to be bombing European nightclubs and planes over Scotland.

US Ambassador to the UN Susan Rice.

And yeah Harper kind of got shafted. Probably the only time I've actually felt sorry for the guy.

I wouldn't have found. And, for once, I was not happy of seeing Harper's face. That is usually the reverse. Less I see him, better I feel.

Well, we should be more sorry for him! Either he didn't had love when he was young, either he has a birth defect which make him having no feelings, but he doesn't seem to feel anything. He barely looked happy when he won the last election. That is sad and he seems a sad person, which is bad for him.

He's the leader of a G8 power, the neighbor of the United States and a key NATO member. Yet it seems as if nobody gives a sh**t about him or they forget him entirely. If I was him, which thankfully I'm not, I'd be sad.
