Sweden, Norway, and Denmark are involved in more wars than Libya. This is an accurate ranking if you assume everyone in America is a poor black male.

Sad  The U.S. and Italy not in the top twenty.

Libya is fighting a war within its borders. America's like...not.

(oh, and Iceland 7th on 'wealth'Huh This list is even more ridiculous than most of them. Clearly not the UN's list, which is the best (even if still riddled with problems).

Ah ah ah North Korea and Cuba ahead of UK and Japan in education. ahahah

This rankings are junk. they simply consider the percentage of GDP spent on health, education etc communicated by governments, without any further check.

What did Singapore do to so totally own the health list?

Top 3:
Singapore 0.979
Iceland 0.926
Japan 0.907

And if their health care is so awesome, why don't other countries just copy it?

Since Singapore's healthcare is more based on private funding than the American system and their government spends about 90% less than the US (relative to GDP) on healthcare, that is obviously the entire answer.

It's not for nothing that Singapore is usually hailed as an international beacon of socialism.

I'd like to learn more about it, actually. Medisave, yes? Funded by CPF accounts?

But most of these lists are next to nonsense.

I'm no expert on Singapore's system, but I do know the country is usually ranked as one of the most economically right-winged countries in the world, so I decided to look it up. It does have elements of public healthcare, with the government making sure that everyone is covered. But it's still mostly privately funded and their overall spending on healthcare is a lot lower as share of GDP than what it is in the US.

So almost 100% of the countries that have a better quality of life than the US are more socialist.  Hhhmm... I wonder what that tells us.  I wonder.  I really wonder.

It's in the OP's post.  It's sorta the reason for the whole thread.  Upper left hand column.

oh, so your comment was based off this BS list?....figures.  I remember around '85 a list came out that showed US as #44 and USSR as #42....it was completely unbiased, of course.  Roll Eyes

On average and objectively (ignoring the index)? A good deal of Western Europe, I imagine.
