Because they trained in Philadelphia last Summer, I saw them practice, met a few
of them and (unfortunately) gave them an incredible amount of luck?

So we beat Stoke today and are now 8th in the league. This is a significant improvement on where we were a few months ago, to put it mildly.

But I think the time has come for some serious speculation about the relegation fight. Looks like a lineup of five clubs this season, though you can't entirely rule out one of those slightly above getting dragged down suddenly. It happens.

Oh what's that? Manchester United is being out-played and losing a game? Better give them two fake penalties to make up the gap!

Fuck Howard Webb.

Heh. After 22 minutes we went up 2-1 (after being down 0-1 after 5 minutes, after having a goal cancelled for offside. Probably correctly, though what do I know? I've only seen it live in the stands), and I joked that it's freezing cold, we got the result we need, someone blow a final whistle already.
I was right. Nothing much happened during the remainder of the game.

I loved seeing them knock out the Gers today.

Rangers are in a bad way financially.

Wenger needs to be sacked. That was an embarrassment.

The team from The Beautiful Place probably went easy on them.

They could have easily scored double what they did. It was a humiliatingly awful performance.

Congrats to him if he succeeds not to be ousted after this year. Blanc would have to go further 1/4 finals in the Euro in case he wants to continue, because it already goes messy around him in the federation, so Arsène could quickly find a new job.

Arsenal without Arsène would just be weird. I never knew it. I knew Wenger, when, once upon a time, he was in Monaco though, and then moved to London, and brought all those good Monaco players with him (Henry and Petit for those I remind of). Maybe he should consider do the travel back, Monaco (which used to be in the top French clubs in the 90s) being...19th of...L2 now (yay!).

He was clearly a great manager at some point, probably one of the top 100 in the history of the sport, and I'm sure there's still a good manager in there somewhere, but someone has to take responsibility for this embarrassment and failure of a season, or we're just going to continue to muddle on over the summer, lose our remaining good players, and replace them at the last minute with more expensive mediocrities.

If that's where Arsenal will be 15 years after his demission... it has my approval.

The much anticipated Napoli-Chelsea clash is tomorrow. I wish I could watch it here (though I'd obviously prefer being in Naples) but, with my luck, I'll be arriving home right as the game is kicking off. Chelsea fans seem pretty uneasy here. The papers seem pessimistic but I'm a little worried they'll walk away with a draw or maybe even a win.

I saw that on the news last night. Once I heard them say "three own goals," I figured they misspoke. Thankfully, from an amusement standpoint, they did not.

Thank goodness that the Swiss TV will show this match live today.

Not even one German or Austrian cable channel is showing it ! Only Pay TV.

Do Chelski even count as part of 'English football' these days?
