Last year I decided that I would support Hamilton Academical because they had the best name in Britain. They were promptly relegated to the First Division. Accies are in first place for now, though.

Can someone explain to me why there is both a Carling Cup that no one takes seriously apparently and an FA Cup later in the season which are basically the same tournament?

Is it like the preseason and postseason NIT?

Americans are the only people in the world who use insult their sports leagues that way (God knows other countries have found other ways to do so). You're free to continue of course, but leave other people's leagues out of it.

The CFL and NHL both use acronyms, of course.

TNS won the Welsh title yesterday. I will refrain from going into further details of their title clash with Bangor City, because it's a tad on the embarrassing side.

Is it more embarrassing than the existence of a team called Total Network Solutions?
