I'm almost certainly smarter than you and my SAT was higher than Lief's.
SAT isn't a very good measure of intelligence.  I made a 1600 (out of 2400 IIRC) on the SAT when I took it as a 7th grader.  But I don't think I'm much smarter than the average person.

I frankly don't think IQ test are particularly meaningful.  I'm in Mensa, but 6,258,000 other Americans qualify.  It is slightly rarer to be from Missouri.

Exactly, Mensa is overrated - I could have joined it, but didn't see the point

Several reasons to join:

- It looks good on a resume, if handled properly.  It is known well enough (as opposed to Intertel and Triple-Nine Society) that it stands out.  It is not on my consulting resume, but it is on my on-line bios and Who's Who entry.

- A lot of people are impressed with it (and I can say the same thing about my Who's Who entry).  I'm not sure what great accomplishment there is in my taking a standardized test when I was nine and doing reasonably well on it.

- Good for networking, especially on the Internet.

- Their magazine is usually interesting and it's a potpourri of things.

- You get a lot of diversity in the members.

- I like their strongly held, **We'll take anyone who qualifies** policy.  We have a member on death row in Florida.  I think that speaks very strongly of their principles.

BA in Political Science, have volunteered/worked for numerous campaigns (Field Director for one right now and Field Director for the state GOP's local Victory program in 2010) and very involved on the local political scene.

Slept with 32 women since I graduated high school (I'm awesome)

Anyone that has to mention it as often as you do must be trying to over compensate for something (not to mention actually counting each person).

That really doesn't appeal - plus, in Australia people would just laugh at you if you tried to bring that up... even in a job application.

Having an IQ over 140? Who cares? There are so many other kinds of intelligence that are far more valuable. Now, when I say that to someone and they know I have over 140 they look at me like there's something wrong with me... so perhaps mixed signals...

ps - I would NEVER put that in a resume... ever.

Well, I did some pre-campaigning for a candidate before last federal election in Canada. I wasn't able to work during campaign for various reasons, but I plan to.

I feel like we havent done a "which flame warrior is the preceding poster..." thread in a while.

Mostly because kids these days have weeded out flame warriors for the far inferior trollface/rage guy memeset on posters.  Although I did enjoy using them for my mod squad sig.

Hence his inability to impress on the writing portion.

I feel like we havent done a "which flame warrior is the preceding poster..." thread in a while.

It didn't really work before, because all the same people kept posting any old random (and often completely inaccurate) label to the previous posters, most of whom were too dull even to warrant a label themselves.  None of the people who fit certain labels perfectly ever posted in it.

My credentials are pretty mediocre. I have never missed a vote or election, am well-informed when it comes to politics in Switzerland but lack in-depth knowledge about politics in most other countries. I try not to make up my mind regarding a political issue prematurely and do some reading before I decide how I stand on a certain issue. But that's basically it.

Since we're on the topic of boasting results:

37/45 IB Diploma. Only 10.17% of students worldwide did better (13.41% did as well or better). +7.45 above world mean
top 16% of worldwide IB English HL students with a 6 grade (out of 36,101 candidates)
top 12% of worldwide IB ITGS SL students with a 6 grade (out of 2,038 candidates)
top 67% of worldwide IB Biology HL students with a 4 grade whoops too much info
top 2% of worldwide IB History HL students with a 7 grade (out of 29,924 candidates)*
top 11% of worldwide Group 3/history extended essay with A grade (23,732 candidates)
top 16% of worldwide May 09 French HL students with a 7 grade (2,602 candidates) (damn, the exam must have been really easy).
top 54% of worldwide May 09 Dumb Math/Math Studies SL students with a 5 grade
one of 27% worldwide awarded 2 or more bonus points

* and this was on a sh!t-hard exam which nobody knew about and which asked stuff nobody knew from some weird syllabus we hadn't learn. And my answer was with some stuff on Peron and Vargas I had read myself. And a bullsh**t reasoning for why JFK was a good president (mostly 'he saved teh world from teh nuklear armageddon!'. srsly.

I have a bachelor degree in economics and finance and am about to start my last year for my master degree in economics. I'm in my last week of working as a research assistant and will soon begin my 3rd year as a teaching assistant in international economics.

And I tend to do well on standardized tests.

It's mainly my charm, brilliance and humble attitude which explain why people should listen to me though.
