I voted HO.

The United Nations does nothing more than serve as a forum for undemocratic, totalitarian governments to push their radical agenda on the rest of the world.  It needs to be replaced with a U.S.-led organization only open to secular democracies. 

Even if you don't agree with me on that point, no one can deny that it is somewhat outdated and hasn't kept up with the changing geopolitical atmosphere of the last 70 or so years, and that some aspects of it (especially the Security Council) are in need of major reform.  Also, due to the relative strength of the wealthier, Western nations their interests seem over-represented.

So, the U.S. needs to pull out of the U.N....or at least stop making contributions until they embrace reform...

I would vote Horrible Institution because it is a pro-US tool of neo-liberal oppression, but I'm afraid it might be misunderstood as support for the right-wingers who fail to understand, so I voted Freedom etc.

But it is a horrible institution for the opposite reason most who vote that think it is.

HO---It doesnt stop wars, and claims to help healing. It really only allows people like Qaddafi to last longer, and unfairly divides the world into the American and Russian camp, hence keeping the Cold War alive to this day.

I was going to write a whole essay trying to smash the suffocating wall of xenophobic know-nothing dumb that is particularly prevalent in this thread, but then I remembered than the universe is meaningless and that we live in an eternal empty void, with no meaning or purpose. An organization with more than honorable goals, which is often unable to achieve them due to its inclusion of the people it is meant to fight. It has, over time, done far more good than bad anyways.

Organizations like this are needed to keep the peace amongst the super powers, but it tends to be corrupt and fails about as much as it succeeds. I'm neutral.
