Depends on which Founding Father you are talking about. 

Here is a sample of where they are in the political spectrum.

George Washingotn-Paleoconservative

Thomas Jefferson-Libertarian

Alexander Hamilton-Rockefeller republican

The US founding fathers were classical liberals rather than modern liberals.

Generally:

Classical liberals - not okay with government involvement in economy or in people's personal lives (pretty similar to libertarians but maybe they don't go as far)

Modern liberals - okay with government involvement in economy but not okay with government involvement in people's personal lives

Classical liberals=ftmp, libertarians but not all classic libs(look at Thomas Hobbes for instance).
