Come on Massachusetts.

You replaced Ted Kennedy with a fiscally conservative and socially moderate (by Republican standards) Republican?

You're better than this.

Small typo in the title...

...and this poll shows why no top-tier Democrat wants to run for a senate seat without a Democratic incumbent, a previously unthinkable situation here in Massachusetts.

Who would that be?

MA is one of those odd states where both parties don't really have any sort of bench worth noting.  That works to the Democrats advantage in an open seat, obviously, but makes it near-impossible for them to dislodge a well-known and popular Republican incumbent.

At least half of our Congressional reps (Markey, Capuano, Frank, Lynch, McGovern) or the SoS whose name I am forgetting.

Although Obama hasn't personal popularity at Massachussetts, I think that the need of majority for a strong mandate will defeat Brown by the end.

Wait, so a top-tier candidate is an SoS that you, a member of the Atlas forum, can't remember the name of? Surely, you jest. Tongue

Brown's approvals are decent but a presidential year in MA is still a tall order.
