I watched 12 seconds of the video and then exited out. That is one of the most tasteless "tributes" to the US I have ever seen. You want to sing God Bless America? Fine. But don't do it with videos from 9/11. Absolutely offensive.

Does anyone else think that this was probably released because Cain's campaign knew it would be controversial and divisive? Is this a desperate attempt from an increasingly irrelevant candidate to gain some attention?

I thought that too. Cain must be smart enough to know that the video will offend a great many people and may get attention from the media. The attention he'll get, even if negative, is still attention; at this stage in his campaign, any attention outside of the debates (which only hardcore political hacks watch) is good for him.

Well, I enjoy his voice. Let's get him to release another album.

But he had to know this was beyond tasteless. If you must show pictures, show people comforting each others outside the towers or something. Even that's stretching it, but he could at least defend that by saying something like "The events of that terrible day showed the American spirit could not be be broken" or some such.

This, I really don't see how you defend.

She's one of only four candidates who is still polling above 5% in NH and IA. I do not like her, but I cannot agree with excluding her this early given that she has support that qualifies her as a top four candidate.
