I guess the Ravens don't want to have playoff games at home.

I'm going to miss Candlestick when they tear it down.

When the lights go down in the city.
And the moon shines on the bay.

Sun, not moon. After they played that song during the 2010 World Series, I'm not ever going to forget the words.

Brilliant performance, particularly on the part of the defense. Another age-old rushing defense record has fallen, which leaves two left I can see. This was a win we badly needed, though I doubt even this will make the naysayers change their tune.

new FO.com playoffs odds are out.

Jets at 45.4% to make it; Broncos in command out West but Chiefs up to an absurd-in-and-of-itself 8%; NFC East is 58-27-15 DAL-NYG-PHI; Atlanta, Detroit approaching virtual lock on NFC wild card; Patriots near-lock to repeat as AFC regular season champion.

The Niners offense this year is somewhat erratic & three consecutive successes seems like a bit much to ask of it. I think we're still a year out from a Super Bowl victory.

That's what I'm thinking too.  Sure, it's possible, but it's going to be very very hard for the Saints or the 49ers to win in Green Bay in January.

Well, the Chiefs:
A.are not as bad as their record indicates
B.are tough at home
C.the Packers were probably "looking past" the Chiefs a bit

That said, you are 100% correct.

Losing to clearly inferior teams is an ever-present threat in this game, or really any professional sport. Just look at the Ravens, whose four losses have all come from teams without winning records. With that said, the Packers have a very strong advantage in the NFC Championship game.

I'm making a prediction, not regurgitating what we already know: that the Green Bay Packers have a great chance of going to and winning the Super Bowl. Fortunately, the unexpected is what makes the NFL great. The Packers weren't "supposed" to make it last year but they did. The Jets weren't "supposed" to make back to back AFC Championships but what we did. I've predicted a reversal in current trends, with the season closing by successes from defensively driven teams as opposed to those who put up massive points on offense.
