I made my picks earlier, dug my grave.  here they are.

HOU ovr CIN. PIT ovr DEN. PIT ovr NE. BAL ovr HOU. PIT ovr BAL. | NO ovr DET. ATL ovr NYG. GB ovr ATL. NO ovr SF. GB ovr NO. | GB ovr PIT

A rematch, eh?  I sure hope not.  It gets boring seeing Pittsburgh in the Super Bowl year after year.

I know the conventional wisdom is Saints at Niners, but I actually wouldn't be too surprised to see the Lions win the first game instead. They gave the Packers a run for their money & the Saints are no Packers.

That game doesn't really count, since the Packers had nothing to play for. Nobody's gone to the Superdome and won all year; it would take a better team than the Lions to do it, methinks.

I was thinking the first game was close too, but it was actually 27-15. The Lions' problem is that they are wildly inconsistent; sometimes Stafford is great, sometimes he is horrible. Their tendency to commit tons of penalties on both sides of the ball doesn't help.

I've no real idea how to get my money out of my 5dimes account so I may just bet it all this weekend.  I should have jumped on Houston -2.5/3, now it's -4 and I'm stuck.  I can't help but like Detroit at +11.  Steelers at -8 and Falcons at +3.

they did the same thing when they played the Jets in 09.  burned both challenges in the first quarter.

Good job Texans.  Enjoy your playoff success 'cause there is no way you'll be able to beat the other two AFC North teams.

Even if just Leinart had stayed healthy, this might have been the Texans' year. They will probably be a force next season.

We in Baltimore look forward to welcoming our friends from Houston. Smiley

Detroit broke my heart in letting Pierre Thomas convert that third & ten.  I was dreaming of a 24.5 pt lead.

They can have you and hopefully beat you up a little.  The Steelers have a much better shot against the Patriots than they do you guys...on the other hand, the Ravens have never won a playoff game against the Steelers.

Of all the potential playoff teams we could have faced this week, Cincinnati was the one I felt most confident about.  We beat them on the road without Johnson this year, as such at home with Johnson, against a rookie QB = victory.  As it turns out, not really a close game.

Guess you forgot about Week 4, eh?  Typical Steelers fan.

FWIW, I don't expect us to win at Baltimore, either, but now we're playing on house money, and Joe Flacco has been known to be a bit of a mercurial player.

nice Answer by Detroit... up 17.5 but counting no chickens

of course if I can't ever get the money out of the account this could prove a bit academic, but, still, counting no chickens.

I didn't forget, I just know you can't/won't score 17 points this time Wink

Detroit seems to be playing great except when they actually get a turnover. Then it's three plays & a punt.

Considering that we scored 31 points then, but 14 of them were called back because of stupid/non-existent penalties, I don't think we'd score 17 points next time either.

Who dat? Who dat? Who dat say dey gonna beat dem Saints?

I really do not see how the Saints can be stopped by the 49ers, Packers or anybody in the AFC. Aaron Rodgers better bring his AAA game in the NFC Championship and hope it's a terribly frosty/snowy day. I strongly suspect the NFC Championship is going to be the real Super Bowl.

Saints better hope that Drew Brees doesn't throw any picks out there. You guys may have a nice offense, but your defense is terrible at forcing turnovers. You may be able to lose the turnover battle & win against the Niners too, but you'll be destroyed if you can't handle the Packers there.

The Saints didn't look real good yesterday, which is reassuring. They're not going to win at the Stick if they play like that. The 49ers should definitely be the favorites next Saturday.
