With 96% of precincts reporting, it's now down 58-42. It didn't just lose. It lost HUGE. Comparable to Obama/McCain in Washington State. After a rudimentary search I can't find any county data. A million thanks to anybody willing to throw together a map.
EDIT: Found in another thread

58-42? Woah. Wouldn't have thought *that* possible.

This is wildly speculative, but looking at the map, the initiative seemed to have done best in the NE corner, which is the only part of the state that is hillbilly Upper South as opposed to high black pop/plantation history lowland states. Given that the iniative was the work of a Colorado based organization that was trying to cherry pick the most favorable state possible, perhaps they'd do better in an Upper South state like Kentucky, West Virginia, or Tennessee. Even Alabama is considerably more Upper South than Mississippi.

They probably banked on more Black support.

The abortion debate is officially over in this country with this one, guys. All remaining pro-lifers may now return to their caves.
Thank you for your valuable insight on the matter. I'll make sure to keep my cave-dwelling status in mind next time I want to have an opinion.
Thank you, sir!

I went to the drink fountain with the intention of getting a diet drink, but I accidentally hit the Dr Pepper lever. I didn't realize it until the cup was full.

Plus, while what memphis points out
is
interesting, I'd seen some polls before that showed that the Mississippi Delta is the most anti-abortion rights part of the country. Louisiana was the most, followed by Mississippi. I don't remember where, I think it was a Survey USA 50-state thing from several years ago.

Is there a poll that tells us the breakdown among self-described pro-lifers and pro-choicers?
