McGovern vs. Sanders

Bernie Sanders's candidacy is probably the most left-wing viable Democratic presidential candidate since George McGovern's successful one in 1972. How would the two fare against each other in to-day's Democratic primaries with their respective primaries? Who would the progressives break for and who would more moderate voters consider the lesser evil? How would each candidate fare with minorities?

Presuming McGovern was running in the current context of US politics he'd probably focus his platform largely on non-interventionism and civil liberties and promise to finally bring US troops home from overseas and vow to pardon Snowden. Sanders would focus heavily on income inequality as he does in OTL and would probably win the bulk of the minority vote and union support while McGovern takes civil libertarians, some of the paulites from 2012 and upper middle class liberals.
