Barbour biggest problem is the racist past (and present) of Mississippi.  the state's image is just too tainted.  He's smart but he is also damaged goods, just like Newt.

And you can forget the Daniels of Indiana, I doubt an arab that isn't strongly social conservative could win the GOP nominee.

Thune has a shot, but he has just disappeared off the radar.  Probably isn't running, at least not at the top of ticket.

The GOP field is simply extremely thin.

Social conservatives aren't going to trust Romney.

Palin is toxic and a terrible poster child for the GOP.

At this point, someone like Herman Cain could swoop down and take the GOP 2012 nomination.

Nice call, I hadn't even heard of Herman Cain back in July 2010.

Don't you think that if Gingrich can surge again, so can Perry? Its still so very early.

well, I've batted about .158 since July 2010...so I might not be the best person to ask.  Perry is done.  Gingrich *might* be given a chance if Cain implodes.

I dunno, man, things look bad for Perry, but I'm not sure he's done.

Cain is likely going to be Romney's VP choice.

After 2008? We chose a one-term Governor who ended up having some gaffes. Cain is businessman, not even a one-term Governor, and we've already heard him say some pretty crazy stuff. I highly doubt the likelihood of choosing Cain as a VP.

It's going to be fun to watch the look on Republican's faces when their "maverick" loses to a one term black Senator from Chicago.

LOL. He's not actually going to win the nomination. This is fun though.

So what?  I predicted Romney's candidacy nearly a decade before I was born:

George Romney didn't work out, but I bet his Guy Smiley lookalike kid could make a run for the White House one day.  Youtube may not exist yet, but once it does, I'm sure this clip from the future will win people over:
