The items listed above are the ten most "successful" bellwether states.

Click on those three states whose inhabitants (or state legislature, respectively) voted for the "right" candidate most frequently.

PS: What matters is not the popular vote, but the eventually winning candidate.

___________________________________________________________________________________

Answer:

#1 New Mexico (92,0%)
#2 Illinois (83,3%)
#3 Ohio (82,7%)

Thanks to everyone who cast their vote.

Intuitively, I'd say IL, NM and OH.

I know which state virtually never voted "wrong".

You'll never guess right. HARHARHAR

I'm certain one is California and another is Illinois.

One of them is correct, the other one is wrong.

According to rules of Boolean logic, either both are correct or both are wrong. Grin

Here's what we know:

At least one of OH, IL, CA must be correct. At least one of IL, NM, OH must be correct.

CA and IL cannot both be correct, but one is.

CA and OH cannot both be correct, but one is.

Therefore, if California is correct, New Mexico must also be correct. And if California isn't correct, Ohio and Illinois must also be correct.

In order for this to be guessable, more information is needed. Personally, I voted for NM, NV, and OH. However, given the information thus far, that is impossible.

As of right now, the possibilities are:

CA, NM, AZ
CA, NM, MT
CA, NM, NV
CA, NM, NY
CA, NM, PA
CA, NM, UT

OH, IL, AZ
OH, IL, MT
OH, IL, NV
OH, IL, NY
OH, IL, PA
OH, IL, UT
OH, IL, NM

What a waste of time.

I'm sure Illinois and Ohio are. The third one is most probably NM.

You ought to know the answer by intuition.

As of right now, the possibilities are:

CA, NM, AZ
CA, NM, MT
CA, NM, NV
CA, NM, NY
CA, NM, PA
CA, NM, UT

OH, IL, AZ
OH, IL, MT
OH, IL, NV
OH, IL, NY
OH, IL, PA
OH, IL, UT
OH, IL, NM

What a waste of time.

I can reassure you: You've listed the correct combination. Cool
