Pre-debate coverage is casting this as a big Romney-Perry confrontation and barely mentioning the other candidates, and after the chaotic free-for-all that was the CNN/Tea Party debate, I hope that this expectation is accurate.

I hope not. I want to see a pile on Romney and Perry by the others. I want to see Paul, Cain and Bachamann destroy Romney on taxes and Obamanycare , Paul destroy Santorum like he did Rudy on foreign policy, see Huntsman prove he's a much better moderate than Romney, and see Johnson and Paul show us how states rights, libertarianism, and social conservatism are best as allies in the fight against the progressives. Mittens v Perry is what the establishment want and that's no fun in this primary season.

I thought he looked like he burned a fat one just before the debate.  Probably calms his nerves.

Actually, I like this format.  They go on, one at a time, with equal time, roughly in order of polling numbers.  Then we have a commercial.  (So Johnson and Paul can go out back and take a hit.)

Also, apparently Romney doesn't inhale.

Paul doesnt smoke.

Indiana is midwest

Midwest is not the west, west as in west of Kansas.

Getting it out of the south is a good first shot. It'll get to the west soon enough.

FTR, Brandi and Michael, the people in the video from Indiana, come from the county next to me, and we were working hard to get views on that to get it aired. Success! Cheesy

Good work tmfth.

Huntsman is right, focus on the core of the US, not with the war that's increasing the debt.
Wow I'm surprised Huntsman is finally showing a backbone. I'm not sure if he was this aggressive during the first hour though since I just started tuning in.

I'm loving that .

Ron Paul said it perfect about abortion, moral of the character

Thats one of the most socially conservative statements he's said in this race outside of his advocacy of biblical monetary policy.

Romney should have brought up Perry's Al Gore ties.

That's Ron Paul's line.

That Paulspiracy group is starting to make more since.

That's Paulite not Paulspiracy.

Folks here seem to be missing that Perry is allowing Mitt to appear to move to the right of him, especially on immigration.

After watching tonight, Perry is done, long-term, which leaves Mitt as the only announced candidate with a chance at the nomination.  Watch.

Better late than never Sam. Smiley  But Perry is the best thing that ever happened to Mitt. He gets a chance to appear adult, and more knowledgable, and nuanced, again and again, while Perry and Bachmann and Santorum chew each other up. I'm sure Mitttens hopes they all stay in through Florida. After that, it's over.

Oh, one other thing: as each drops out, they will endorse Mitt.

I dont think Mitt will get all of them in the end. Paul won't drop out. I liked that Cain was getting quite a bit of vp love. The anti-Romney is Ron Paul not Perry. La ti da will come back to bite Perry.

Paul can and has made quite a few inroads to the evangelical community and we haven't forgotten.
