I seriously doubt being tied to OWS is a bad thing in Massachusetts.

It's not.

My cousin is the most recent Republican candidate for State Auditor, a big Brown supporter and donor, and has a neutral or only very vaguely negative opinion of OWS, and she's fairly representative of the most conservative set of people you can really find in large numbers in this state.

I love the snot out of Mary Z. Connaughton, but she's far too intelligent to be associated with "the most conservative set of people" here in Massachusetts.

Point taken, given that I can actually talk with her on a reasonable level at Thanksgivings (http://oi56.tinypic.com/fkr2iq.jpg picture related, that's me on the left). Although she does have a tendency to grouse about NPR (at one point last year she was judging Apples to Apples and she spent like five minutes on this tangent about how it was responsible for her loss to Suzanne Bump. She calmed down after some ricotta pie. She's also hilarious, incidentally. In a good way).

http://www.politico.com/blogs/davidcatanese/1011/Warren_Im_going_for_the_Hick_vote.html?showall

Massachusetts Senate candidate Elizabeth Warren said on a liberal podcast she'll be actively courting the "hick" vote in 2012, a comment made in jest that could come back to haunt her nascent campaign.

Warren was speaking Friday on "Left Ahead," a podcast of Massachusetts bloggers who are touting the "hick" reference in their summary of the 30-minute interview.

Who are these hicks, exactly?

This won't go over well for her, especially with Brown's emphasis on his "blue collar" image.

Brown does well with the same crowd that Reagan had success with and the blue collar workers that thinks they will be the 1% someday in their life time.

The occupiers are assaulting Harvard. Hopefully for Elizabeth Warren's sake there are armed guards near her office.

Is krazey still railing about how much of a troop-hating, latte-drinking, baby-killing, tax-loving hippie "PROFESSOR" Warren is?

When she talks, her head shakes like crazy. Can't believe she doesn't consistently have a headache.

I would not be surprised if she does, and I certainly wouldn't blame her.

On the other hand, I know several women of her generation who talk like that.

a vast amount of people have migraine problems.  I have them and it started all the way back in February 2010 or so.  so does Michele Bachmann, so we hear.  it's a multi billion dollar industry.

She pronounces "Washington" as if she were from Texas.   Does she pronounce "Massachusetts" as if she were from Texas?

It's odd she's so liberal then. Most Democrats from there are Conservative.

Fred Harris is OK progressive hero that got elected when OK was even more conservative then present day OK.

True, but now states are much more polarized, so I can't see someone like Harris winning in Oklahoma.

As of Warren, being from Oklahoma doesn't matter. She doesn't live here since college.

Not odd considering that she moved to Massachusetts.

And how does she pronounce Massachusetts?

BTW, why she didn't answer the question like this:

"I was married, but living in Texas which had extremely low tuition rates.  I was able to afford tuition on my husband's salary who was working at NASA.  Go Coogs."

She must have had speech therapy to change her pronunciation of "Massachusetts".

Elizabeth Warren recently wrote a blog post about gay rights.  This is the first pronouncement I've seen her make on social policy.  In a nutshell -- she supports the repeal of DADT and DOMA, favors a "fully inclusive" ENDA and supports anti-bullying efforts in schools.  This is all unsurprising, but it is good to see her put it on record.
