Imagine that Romney and Perry are found spooning each other in a bathroom (a pre-debate warm-up?).  How does the GOP race shake-up?  If you're feeling really adventurous, predict primary winners under this scenario Wink

I would say Perry or Romney.  Lots of "do what I say not as I do" individuals in the GOP base

If they are caught spooning I guess the winner of the nomination is the one who would be the big spoon as opposed to the little spoon

Christie, Palin, Mitch Daniels, or Jeb would jump in. If the field remained the same, then Huntsman, with Bachmann second, Paul third, Newt fourth, the rest dont go anywhere..

Huntsman, seriously?  We're talking about the Republican Party here ... out of all these, Gingrich.  And if no one else runs, he might see a resurgence in support anyway.

Gingrich wins an easy landslide. He'll pick up the wavering already Perry conservative support. Bachmann has no possibility to rise again. Cain will also have a shot.

Huntsman will pick up moderates and also pose a credible shot.

In my view it would be Gingrich vs Huntsman vs Cain. Or Someone like Christie entering the race.

If both Mitt and Perry are caught in scandal (there might be a huge one on Perry), then it goes Paul, Cain, Huntsman.

Paul if he keeps his momentum up, but Gingrich is the most electable out of the remaining candidates...which is quite a statement.

Huntsman would finally have an opening. Bachmann would probably win though.

It's truly impossible for Paul to pick up enough support to win. Over this past month he has alienated so many GOP factions while only solidifying his support and bringing over a few libertarians that remain on the sidelines.

Gingrich wins. I think he still has a possibility with Perry and Romney in without scandals.

Yeah! He alienated the neo-conservative GOPers and the... uh... pro-spending GOPers? Whatever.

Anyway, there is a pretty obvious winner to this situation, and I don't see how Huntsman is that winner.

Perry is more corrupt than Blagojevich.
Romney has gotten millions of dollars from fake companies.

Oh, you mean a scandal that Republican primary voters actually care about?

In the specific scenario that you describe, definitely NOT Huntsman - he's too "man-pretty" not to arouse suspicion. And not Santorum or Johnson, for obvious reasons. Perhaps if Bachman's husband were to successfully counsel the two ex-frontrunners, she would come out the winner.

well this is the exact scenario that would drive someone into the race like Christy. I think Santorum and Bachman and Huntsman would fight it out but Huntsman would win
