Apparently, I'm not the only one that thought that his comments were very open ended - http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0911/64589.html

He could have said he's considering it. He didn't. He played cute. He probably wants another venue to say why he isn't running as a separate speech is my guess.

Happy to have it open-ended Phil. I hope he runs too

In other news, how good was Christie's speech by the way?  Did he set the house on fire, or put them to sleep, or something in-between?

He did well. He had them really fired up during the Q&A though.

Chris "the Messiah" Christie.

I am absolutely baffled as to why some of you Republicans are so intent on not winning the 2012 election. Wink

There is no point in having Christie running for President in 2012. He needs to complete a term as New Jersey first, and hopefully win re-election as well. In the process he might even revitalise the Republican Party in the Garden State.
Then he can run in 2016 or 2020.

The Reagan Library event was apparently "mind blowing" for Christie. A decision could come next week, as early as Monday - http://www.nypost.com/p/news/national/christie_feels_the_urge_QYtocnZuH6ArN54eGisgyL

Also important to note: his wife is said to have warmed to the idea thanks to a phone call from Barbara Bush.

Next Monday will be the 3rd of October.  Aren't we really stretching the boundaries of how late a candidate can enter at that point?  It'd be a mere 3 months until caucus time.

I think people are really underestimating the insanity of getting in this late as it relates to organizing in the early states... people don't just show up to these caucuses and primaries on their own; the campaign has to work to get them there and Christie has no infrastructure whatsoever to support that. I think his performance in Iowa and New Hampshire would end up being significantly less than whatever he would end up polling there the day before the elections.

a Christie splash would be bad timing (with Cain being given a 2nd look)...better to allow us to give Cain til the next debate.  If Cain flames out, then I would welcome Christie in.

I suppose Christie will be the next flavor if he decides to jump in. I think he would be silly to do so considering the timing.

As I've said before: he's running, folks.  He is the final boss on the Mitt Romney road to the GOP nomination.

If he is the final boss then it's kind of funny that Herman Cain is apparently the second to last.

Christie only trails Obama by one point nationwide: http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/elections/election_2012/election_2012_presidential_election/2012_presidential_matchups

He's not "palin-ing". He's said no many times.

Looks like Peeperkorn just gave you a reason to support him, "Dale."

Hey, I heard a rumor once that Christie was a fat. Is this true or very true? Someone let me know soon. Thanks!
