Do you abide by this rule: once a particular member of our community posts in a thread, it is "dead"/not worthy of being read anymore.

I do. Once pbrower comments, I don't have the strength to carry on.

J. J. often does this for me. Especially if the thread is an obvious joke/sarcastic.

Nah, this forum wouldn't be the same without responding to J.J.'s posting.

No poster in particular, but if I see a quote exchange of several angry posts between two posters then I know the deluge has occurred.

It isn't so much any one poster I ignore, but there are certain topics that often come up as tangents that I ignore:

1. Israel coming up in a religion thread
2. The morality of gerrymandering coming up in a redistricting thread
3. A "Phil likes Santorum" fight
4. A Napolean vs. Tmth fight
5. The Jon Huntsman lovefest

Kalwejt should be arrested for multiple thread homicides.

While I'm flattered with your new obsession with me, although I think you're grossly overestimating my lethal power Smiley

1. Israel coming up in a religion thread

Actually we could probably amend this to jmfcst quoting the Bible in something that wasn't a biblical question to begin with, and it'd cover both this and would work pretty well.

How can a thread be subject to "homicide" ? Please at least know the meaning of the words you use.

My mistake. I wasn't expecting someone to actually believe I was being literal.

With a response like that, I think I might have a new addition to my list...

And you guys utterly and pathetically missed the point.

It would be fine if he said "thread murder". The word homicide comes frome the latin word homo meaning "man", "human being". A thread isn't a human being AFAIK. This post proved the poster fails at etymology.

You take all words at their literal context?

I suppose I'll give you the credit of being someone I never heard of to being one of the biggest jokes around here. That's quite a rise.

"I killed a spider. I committed a spider homicide."

Definitely sounds like something a normal person would say.

That's what I love about the internet. Two people, who never saw each other, are getting into a huge quarrel over something not worth of wasting keypads.

I tend to feel that way about phknrocket.  At the very least, I try to just keep talking to the people that posted before him and hope that no one responds to him.

It's impossible to have a normal conversation with phknrocket. I blocked him on AIM very quickly, growing tired with random AIMing like "is Sewer Socialist autistic?" or "is nkpatel obese?" or even "would Andrea Corr date me?".

Exactly. As soon as thread starts to turn into a personal feud between posters who I have never heard of or bore me, I stop reading.
