Three or four games left in the season. Playoffs start on Friday. Let's go.

I think the Red Sox will hang on for the AL Wild Card and the Cardinals will take the NL spot.

Cards worry me, a little.  The hot team is especially scary in the short series.  As much as I friggin hate the braves, part of me wouldnt mind if we dropped 1...maybe 2 to allow them to hobble into the playoffs.

You really prefer us more compared to Rangers or Braves?

I don't have any particular hate for the Phillies. I will forever be grateful to Philadelphia for standing between Los Angeles and a pennant in 2008 and 2009. I put the Phillies above the Rangers because I prefer NL teams in general to AL teams, and because seeing the Bushes lose last year was pretty cool. (I don't like to mix politics and sports, but the Rangers started it by having them throw out the first pitches before Game 3.) The Braves bother me because they always win. Besides, all Giants fans bear a grudge toward the Braves for 1993, when the Giants went 103-59 and didn't make the playoffs.

Heh 1993.  We won the East Division and ultimately the Pennant with 97 wins (by contrast).

Well, Houston is a pretty good team—oh, the 4-3 record the Astros had against the Giants wasn't representative of the quality of the team? Well, crap.

Houston's always played us pretty well considering they're supposed to be a bottom feeder.

Houston, Washington and Pittsburgh have played us tougher than their records indicate they should.

Although I'm a Red Sox fan, I hope the Yankees best the Rays in their final regular season series.

The Bombers have won the division anyway, so the least they can do is keep the Rays out of the picture.

Every year I ask for forgiveness for having supported the Red Sox in 2004.

Why?

"Although...

Give it up.  Its in your self interest your nemesis wins.  So at this point theres really nothing incompatable with being a Sox fan and hoping the Yankees win...no need for Although or Even Though or the like.

Does Philly fan boo every time the opposing pitcher throws to first or the catcher comes out to talk or are they just being extradouchey tonight?

(no, I'm not bitter)

I think we're still irritated from Posada/Yankees Pitcher from 2009.

It's a day of blown leads in Philly! Damn it. I had a feeling we weren't going to get this one though.

Their bullpen allowed only 1 hit over 5 innings.  Hopefully they can't shut us down again.

Phils offense making it excruciatingly easy for redbirds staff to outpitch the four "aces."

Thank God for Ben! I thought we were going to hit extra innings before we saw scoring. Great double by Rollins, too.

Hopefully we'll be the first team to win scoring first in this series.

Phils offense simply can't generate runs like the cards can.

Cards have been the better team this series.  Save the first game.

We're lucky we still have a chance to move on.  Playing very tight yet reckless at times.

Well, at least we can be thankful for three things (one of which is pretty meaningless but I'll include it anyway): we're playing at home, Doc is going to be on the mound and the back and forth pattern of the series is in our favor in Game 5.

Carpenter on full rest is not going to be an easy task for the Phils struggling offense.  (Man I'm having flashbacks to last year's NLCS).  Unless Roy is perfect, even Roy being excellent can get beat if these bats stay cold.

I'm beginning to have faith in my Cardinals in Game 5.  Roy Halladay has been beatable this year, and I think the Cardinals are still hot from their season close, so I am going to have to amend my previous prediction and say that the Cardinals will move on to the NLCS.

We were all holding our breath for your updated prediction, Raymond.

Congrats to St. Louis.  It pains me to say that, but they played the better baseball this series.

Gonna be a long offseason.  Real long...hopefully RAJ makes the right moves.

Side note...lol to Andy Reid...he no longer has the Phillies for cover...and with the Phils phailure...fan base is gonna be angrier.

Howard has Achilles injury...if ruptured...could miss most if not all of next year.  Ouch.  Cant have that salary not produce.  Hopefully Mayberry can step up.  Phils gotta continue spending money.

This year's World Series won't have any of the suspects that we thought about at the beginning of the season.  No Yankees, No Red Sox, No Rays, No Phillies, No Braves, No Giants.  We have 4 teams left and all from pretty much the center of the country.  Detroit is the only team that borders on the center and the eastern part of the country and the only team in the Eastern Time Zone.  The other 3 are Central Time Zone inhabitants.

Yeah!  MLB and FOX are estatic over the potential ratings!
