Perhaps Johnson won't qualify either. The two were just wasted space last time around anyways. It's kinda surprising that even with Huntsman's impressive political record he still can't break more than 2% nationwide.

Huntsman would probably be at 0% if the media hadn't decided that he was the best candidate to beat Obama.

I'm sure that his supporter would find this very offensive.

Nah, the 1% exists.  They're all members of this forum.

I still can't believe Huntsman can't gain any traction, but I suppose his time may come when Romney isn't in the race. If he doesn't make it, then Johnson probably won't either.

Oh well. Too bad the population of New Hampshire is a negligible percentage of the population.

CNN, Sept. 12: Huntsman 2%

WSJ-NBC, Sept. 6: Huntsman 2%

...

I don't know what polls they are talking about, but Huntsman leads in 3 and not in 2 !

Ah yes, clever.  The WSJ/NBC poll was *released* in September, though the poll was taken in August.  The guidelines say that the poll has to be released in September, so it should count.

Johnson and Roemer are never going to meet that standard, because they aren't included as options in enough of the polls.

Yes, that.

And the guidelines are also not saying if the poll must be a poll of announced candidates or not.

But I´m pretty sure that in the next 3 weeks there will be a few polls with Huntsman at 2%+

I for one won't shed tears over this. Time to start culling the herd down to Romney/Perry/Paul and at most one other candidate before Xmas IMO. White noise doesn't help.

I have a nagging feeling that we've been saying that for the past four months...

But there is that Zogby "poll".

Huntsman's candidacy is a far bigger joke than many of the "joke" candidates like Santorum or Gingrich, mainly because Huntsman is the voice of a faction of the GOP that doesn't actually exist.

Congrats, Jon. You're making Herman Cain looking like a credible presidential candidate.

Now, that's an accomplishment.

I will admit that every time I get my hopes up about Huntsman, something just comes around and knocks me back down.

I dunno.  I tend to think that the faction of the GOP that consists of smarmy assholes who talk down to people is still pretty decent-sized.  But then again, maybe I have too much interaction with the WSJ people.
