Yes, very glad. Though I'm not surprised the freedom haters in this thread have joined the campaign to disparage and smear him.

Are you claiming that WikiLeaks does not have this contract and that this was a lie?

No Gustaf, I, a freedom hater, clearly made it up to make fun of this great man.  I also own Wired magazine, a notorious freedom hating rag.

They obviously time their releases so this isn't surprising. When OBL was killed they put out something related. You'd have to be very naive to think these guys don't have an agenda. Still I'm glad they've leaked what they have. I'm not a big fan of the national security state, we need to know what's going on one way or another. The CIA and the Pentagon have been out of control for decades and we've made a lot of enemies and wasted a lot of money. If the American people knew the full extent of what's happened, I doubt they'd be thrilled.

It does pain me to see RT use these leaks as fodder for their propaganda, which is eaten up by fool conspiracy theorists on youtube. Russia has a far worse record than the US, naturally no one mentions that.

This post will be much more amusing when it is non-sarcastically coming from Lief. So that's what I'm looking forward to. Smiley

No, I am not.

An organization like Wikileaks couldn't exist without a degree of secrecy and lack of transparency, because the entire purpose of Wikileaks is to allow people to leak things confidentially so that they're not arrested and prosecuted. There's nothing hypocritical about this.

I'll be Wikileaksleak.  If anyone from Wikileaks wants to send me internal confidential material from Wikileaks that hasn't been cleared for release by Assange, I'll post it on Atlas, and I won't reveal your identity.

So...you don't think an organization like the United States of America needs "a degree of secrecy and lack of transparency"?

I mean, Wikileaks is based on the idea that no secrecy should exist and everything should be transparent. Why should they be the exception?

Assange has explicitly stated that the purpose of Wikileaks is not to create a world with no secrecy:

And all the things they have leaked have been about abuses?

I approve of this scandal because Canongate already has the "-gate" suffix the media attaches to everything.
