I'm positive that Perry is going to bounce back. All he needs is debate coaching, and for Romney to get tripped up on his health law.

Romney's been hammered on the health care law over and over again.  Any damage that could have been done to Romney on health care has already been done unless there's something new.  Some sort of hidden clause in his states health care that makes it easier for women to get abortions or for people to get sex changes.

Perry's obituary is certainly not written yet. Romney cant seem to break the 25% ceiling. Perry has the campaign money more importantly the SuperPac money to turn things around and re-consolidate the conservative vote which clearly adds up to more than the Romney support.

Romney failing =/= Perry succeeding

Come on, I thought we got over the "Perry and Romney are the only two conceivable winners" meme last week.

A Perry turnaround would have to rest entirely on his actions. Romney tripping up wouldn't benefit anyone save the current flavor, Herman Cain.

My point was that Perry is not out of it and Romney is certainly not a shoe-in.

I agree, Perry is down but not out. In fact, he will likely benefit from no longer being the front runner because the other Republicans will stop dog piling on him at every debate.

Perry just needs debate practice. I'm confident he can improve.

Actually, it benefits Paul. With Perry falling (and he does not have the capability of recovering), either a Cain or Romney blunder could catapult Paul into a two way race.

Don't say the P-word! That person does not exist! According to the reliable source of Pravda Fox, he cannot win and is unelectable!

I wonder how much of that $17 mil of Perry's is asking for a refund.

Obama raised 70.1 Mio. $ in the 3rd quarter:

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama's campaign raised more than $70 million combined for his re-election and the Democratic party during the summer, an amount that gives him a clear advantage over his Republican rivals but is less than his initial fundraising effort.

The fundraising total announced Thursday exceeds a goal set by the campaign of $55 million combined for the July-September fundraising period but is about $16 million less than Obama raised during the April-June quarter.

Obama has dealt with declining poll numbers and a weakened economy during the summer, prompting the president to recently call himself the "underdog" in the presidential race. Campaign officials had said they would raise less because of canceled fundraisers during the summer's debt ceiling negotiations and a typical summertime lull in raising cash.

Obama campaign manager Jim Messina said in an e-mail to supporters that more than 600,000 people donated to the campaign in the most recent quarter, more than the previous three months. He said more than 980,000 people have given money to the campaign, and in the most recent quarter, 98 percent of the donors gave $250 or less, with an average donation of $56.

"Getting to a million grassroots donors isn't just a huge accomplishment this early in the campaign. It's our answer to our opponents, the press, and anyone who wants to know whether the President's supporters have his back," Messina said.

The numbers include $42.8 million for Obama's campaign and $27.3 million for the Democratic National Committee, which will help Obama's re-election effort next year.

So, Obama has raised 156 Mio. $ so far. If we assume that 100 Mio. $ will be added in the 4th quarter, it would be 256 Mio. $

That leaves 744 Mio. $ for the magical 1 Bio. $ barrier, for which Obama has 10 months time to raise it.

Or better said about 215 Mio. $ for each quarter of 2012, plus October and a few days of November.

I've seen nothing at all from the Bachmann, Gingrich, Cain, or Johnson camps.

So far it's just Perry, vague reports from Romney, Paul, and Santorum (no numbers, but he's stated clearly that he'll be under one million again).

(CNN) - GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney pulled in $14.16 million in the third quarter, his campaign reported Friday.

The July through September haul brings to more than $32 million the amount of campaign cash raised by the former Massachusetts governor, who's making his second bid for the White House.

The campaign also reports that it has just over $14 million cash on hand, and that nearly 56,000 contributors donated in the third quarter.

"We are proud of the $32 million we have raised for the campaign so far. This is just the start of the effort to help fuel Mitt Romney's message that will defeat President Obama next November," said Romney for President National Finance Chairman Spencer Zwick, in a statement.

Looks like Romney has a huge burn-rate.

18 Mio. $ spent in 2 quarters, while Rick Perry has only spent 2 Mio $.

Obama raised $19.6 mill from donors who gave less than $200 (unitemized contributions), that is more than the total raised by any Republican. So much for small donors abandoning Obama.

Romney's burn rate is pretty bad. He spent a lot of money last quarter.

Not as bad as last time, though.
