I have a better proposal.
Subtract 10 Congressional seats from Texas and Florida. Divide the number of seats Alabama, Mississippi and Georgia have in two... and give all of them to Rhode Island.
Let's see....no
I actually like the thought of 34 Reps from Rhodie.
And that of having half a representatives from Alabama and Georgia around! The legs and head represent Georgia, the torso Alabama!

Good idea Harry
Over here we have over 650 seats... and more are added every 10 or so years.

The elections are already a mess as they are! If you add hundreds of more representatives imagine what the mess would be!

I strongly support adding Representatives at the state legislative level - using New Hampshire as the model. But I'm weary of having any more than 435 nattering nabobs calling themselves "Congressmen."

We have 349 seats...and a population about the size of Georgia. I think that's a record in number of seats per capita, but I'm not sure.

Why 475000? Why not a nice even 500000? Also Canada has 308 seats for 33 million people, so about 1 rep to every 110000. That's pretty good rep.

I wonder why republcans do not offer do gave congressional districts by county. 2439 members with at least 60% republicans
That would be fantastic! And since there would be so many they would have to just stay at home in their counties and vote online.

475,000 just seemed like a nice number. Each state is over that number, while WY has less than 500,000.

475,000 just seemed like a nice number. Each state is over that number, while WY has less than 500,000.
The logical choice would then be to set the size for apportionment to most closely match the population of the WY since it has the least. That would create 570 seats to be apportioned, each with approximately 494 K people.

New York should have 19 millions representatives, one for each person.
