I figured I'd make this poll again now that Amazon announced its new line of Kindle e-readers and their new tablet.

I still have a ton of regular books I have to read, but I find myself reading ebooks 75% of the time now and I haven't purchased a physical book in over a year.

While I feel for the independent bookstores out there losing business to the electronic age, the benefits of ebooks far outweigh the drawbacks, because it makes book distribution almost effortless.  New authors will finally have a chance to show their works to the world.

But my vote was mostly ebooks.

Books in paper, comics in laptop (They're incredibly expensive, and I need an Android).

Anyways, Uruguay is kind of the nerd of the continent...every Sunday in midtown Montevideo is like a flea market of sell n' buy books:

I get books from the library, or if there's a book I want to own (For notes/refer back to) I buy it off half.com

For newspapers and magazine articles I generally e-read. For books I'm still with paper.

How can you do that.  It hurts my eyes... and if you dim it, it dims the text so you can't read it anyway.

Kindle all the way.. e-ink is supreme... until we come out with anti-glare retina displays.

Generally real books, though for some classics, I'll use an online version.

I'm currently reading real copies of Spook by Mary Roach and One of Our Thursdays is Missing by Jasper Fforde, and through Kindle on my phone I'm reading Clash of Kings from the Game of Thrones series by George R.R. Martin; I have Contest by Matthew Reilly in the waiting list in real form and The Transit of Venus by Shirley Hazzard on the kindle list waiting to be read.

Well, there are some books that are impossible to find in my country. Because of (lack of) translation to spanish or because they don't want to print them. In that case I've read in pc:

Essay on the Customs and the Spirit of the Nations (Voltaire....I'm quite a fanatic of Voltaire)

The first poems of Rainer Maria Rilke (later I printed them, obviously).

And now I want to try Being and Time by Heidegger.
