Yeah I noticed that in Memphis but was shocked at how small it is. And I admitted Louisville is only borderline, but probably deserves a mention regardless.

I'm not too sure what you mean by Montgomery County Texas though.

The one near the center is the only one Obama actually carried, it's a Hispanic majority precinct in Conroe. The other is 36.6% Hispanic VAP and gave Obama 43.5%.
IIRC the one in "downtown Conroe" (if you can call it that) also has a few Blacks... and McCain's percentage was right about half his second weakest showing.
Given what I'd impute about likelihood to vote at all, and likelihood to vote Republican, among Montgomery Hispanics... Obama probably won the white vote in that Conroe precinct. If I remember correctly. Big if. I noticed that 9 months ago.

Hmmm I'll check that out.

Made a similar map for Dallas though:

In this case green means Hispanic and yellow means mixed.

A lot of those green precincts voted for McCain though, and many of the green ones near the red area might've had Obama winning the white vote too based on who was actually voting.

I've noticed as well there seems to be a white liberal area out in Denton for some reason.

OK the Conroe precinct was 71.1% Obama. 14.1% white VAP, 20.7% black and 63.3% Hispanic. There's a Hispanic majority precinct to the north with far less blacks that McCain won with over 65%.

So if Hispanics turned out at about half the rate of the other groups (turnout wasn't that much lower than nearby not as Hispanic precincts though) about a third of the voters were black, and it's tough to see where McCain got his 28% from if whites weren't overwhelmingly for him. Still probably better than the rest of Montco. Obama might've done better among whites in the precinct to the north.

College town, or so I was told when I asked the question.
