Is there any reasonably realistic way that Wesley Clark could've won the Democratic nomination in '04, and if so, who would he have picked as his running mate, and what would the result of the general election be?

I could see him picking Hillary Clinton or John Kerry, and from there having a very close election, possibly with him pulling out a win.

Clark would have to had followed up his Oklahoma win with one in South Carolina. The buildup of momentum (Clarkmentum?) after South Caroline would have allowed him to win in Tennessee, Virginia, and possibly Wisconsin. By then, he definitely would have edged out over John Edwards as the main challenger against Kerry.

After sowing up the nomination, Clark probably would have chosen a legislator like Edwards, Kerry, Clinton, or Evan Bayh as his running-mate.

Bob Graham or Biden would've been good picks. I suppose Kerry as well.

Bayh and (I think) Bob Graham would've had the advantage of serving in both executive and legislative positions. They'd probably be more qualified on domestic policy as well, thus complementing what Clark would bring to the field, mainly being foreign policy experience and military experience.
