Perry's strategy: stay on point and don't get flapped.

Not brilliant, but serviceable. Would have worked much better if he'd played it that way from the start.

Yeah, I was thinking this pretty much. A "good enough" performance, which if he had put in from day 1 he'd still be the frontrunner, but at this point I don't know how helpful it will be.

The way Perry pronounced Martinez. Subtle cue to Hispanic voters, but anti-immigration voters from the interior states may have heard it too.
How many Hispanic voters are watching GOP primary?

Cain not only has secret economic advisors, he has secret candidates for Fed chairmen.

Good answer on the Fed. Answered head on and intelligently, and showcases his Fed experience.

Picking Greenspan kind of bothers me a little. Should have picked Volcker.

And Paul said that about 2 minutes after I posted this.

Shh.  He's the only Fed chairman anyone will have a prayer of knowing who isn't Ben Bernanke.

Cain likely only knows three chairmen: Volcker, Greenspan and Bernanke. He can't say Bernanke and Volcker is one of Obama's advisors, so the only answer is Greenspan.

What is everyone's thoughts of these kids commercials?
Obnoxious.  They are neither cute, nor informative, nor thought-provoking.  They just grate on my nerves.

Volcker was barely an adviser.

The mere fact that Cain is drawing so much fire. Does it draw media attention? Attention from voters who hadn't been taking him seriously?

Or do the punches landed by Paul and Santorum take a chunk out of him?
