There was a topic about Pawlenty's withdrawal a week or so ago, and most posters seemed to think that the persistence of his signature lack of charisma would prevent him from surging. My opinion is that he'd have a fantastic opening to take advantage of now, but that he probably could not have lasted through September anyway because of poor fundraising.

And I agreed.  I think he wouldn't have had too much traction until Christie passed for the last time.  And even if Cain were still outpolling him, his fundraising would be picking up immediately after and he'd be well-positioned to grab a Cain fumble.

The problem for Pawlenty was Pawlenty, not the rest of the field.

If he had somehow found a few million dollars in a hole somewhere and lasted until now, maybe he could have taken advantage of the Perry collapse. Maybe.

Too late, his opportunity came and went.  Although he could always be a VP nominee

Sounds rather sexual.

"If I had known that the woman I had an extramarital affair with was the heir to a very large European kingdom, I would not have withdrawn."

But it's still not too late. I think this may be an indicator he wants to get back in.

I think there's a lot of people who passed on a run who if they had been the lone addition to this current field, might now be the frontrunner.  John Thune, Mike Huckabee, Mike Pence, Mitch Daniels, Bobby Jindal.  I could see any of them leading intrade at this point.  Still skeptical of Barbour though.  Never thought he had much chance.

I am all for him taking 17 votes away from Romney, 3 away from Cain, and 1 away from Perry. Jump back in, T-Paw!

If he had known a lot more things, he'd still be in the race.

If he were suddenly to become the VP nominee he still would have the personality and charisma of a rock.

If Pawlenty had the political instincts to know what was coming, he wouldn't have been millions of dollars in debt and a complete non-factor.

He would've stayed if he knew it would be this "volatile"?

No no no Tim, you never had a duck's chance in hell of being competitive in the primaries.  You are about as exciting as lukewarm dogcrap on a brown piece of cardboard sitting on a table.  No wait, that's giving you too much credit because most people at least notice the lukewarm dogcrap on a brown piece of cardboard sitting on a table.  Unlike your political career.
You see Tim, you are so devoid of any excitability that even on this forum nobody really still knows who the hell you are.  I mean hell, you make Jon Huntsman seem like Franklin Roosevelt, John F. Kennedy, and Ronald Reagan all rolled up into one person.  Yeah, a guy whose supporters could probably fit inside a Quizno's is that much better of a possible presidential contender than you.  My shit could probably be a more entertaining and less boring Republican Presidential candidate than you.  You are so dreadfully scornfully boring that if you went on national tv and called the Virgin Mary a "fecking lil whore" you wouldn't even make "Honorable Mentions" for Keith Olbermann's "Worst Person in the World".

So why bother in the first place in running for the damn presidency?  It's a whole lot different than being Governor of South Canada y'know?

He's the national co-chair of the Romney campaign
