Overall freedom government. Britain was a better place after than before. (Which I'm sure many will disagree with.)

I think it would be fair to suggest that I am not a great fan of it.

One of the worst democratically-elected governments in the 20th century?

Some might argue Hitler won democratically.

From a fiscal standpoint, a failure (assuming she and her minions were ever serious of course). Public spending increased. The rest well, yeah pretty abysmal by any conceivable measure. Free the malvinas!

A vomit-inducing failure that rivals the worst Republican administrations in the US.

Increased spending in real terms (and this with an actual *decline* in real military spending).  DEVASTATING CUTS! as always.  Far better than the alternative, but that's not exactly saying much.  A horrible government of course.

One of the worst democratically-elected governments in the 20th century?

Some might argue Hitler won democratically.

"SA and SS were woken from their beds at 1am. Many National Socialists were assembled at the Technical College. 46 men motorized SS were assembled at the "City of Chemnitz" [an inn, apparently]. The Red Flag was forcibly removed from the Union Hall at Rosengarten and the Swastika raised in its place. The district court, the health insurance building, the Technical College, the Post Office all also flew the swastika along with the black-white-and-red [which was also a right wing political flag]. There were very many men in uniform about: police, auxiliary police, SA and SS. The SS wore tin helmets, rubber coshs, rifles, handguns. The district commissioner of Rochlitz and the lord mayor of Mittweida had their authority over the police revoked for the duration of the elections. The deputy mayor of our town was arrested at dawn. Red Flags were publically burned. Communist signs and the three arrows of the Eiserne Front were removed from all streets. So were SPD and KPD election posters on walls, fences etc. Stahlhelm and SA ruled the streets!"

So summarizes a local nazi, in the local paper, on the first anniversary of the march 33 elections.

Yeah, Hitler won an election, but it wasn't a free or democratic one.

The Tatcher may have been disgustingly awfull at home, it's her terrible, childish foreign policy that makes her go down as a horrible, horrible HP in my little book of people I wouldn't have voted for.
