Is there any chance that Herman Cain could keep his momentum going?

I'm skeptical, for a few reasons:

1. Every time a new front runner emerges, the rest of the GOP field will dog pile on them. The end result of course is that nobody goes after Mitt Romney, who is getting off really easy. I expect people are going to go after Cain now.

2. Cain doesn't seem to have the cash to keep up with Romney, or even Perry for that matter. At this point you need to be raising a million a week, and by early 2012 that will be a million a day.

3. Cain seems woefully out of place discussing foreign policy.

4. Cain's economic plan is likely going to get blasted by pretty much everybody.

inb4 pizza joke

He probably won't stay far ahead of Romney for long, but at this point his floor is probably third place.

I seriously doubt it, mostly because I'm pretty convinced at this point that he himself doesn't want to win. He seems to be doing everything he can to waste time and be as ineffective a campaigner as possible without seeming like he's deliberately sabotaging himself.

Anyway, there's definitely a chance of him keeping it up.  Two-thirds of the voters aren't completely decided right now, so the race could literally go anywhere.

Not long - he'll probably remain the anti-Romney for a little while longer (perhaps before a Newt boom) - the horrible liberal media actually now scrutinising his ridiculous economic plan - how bigoted!?!

I said 999 would bring him unstuck, and I think it will except for the bloody-minded who think it'll work.

The thing is Iowa and NH will be here before you know it...

That wasn't an intentional joke?  I was sure.

1. Every time a new front runner emerges, the rest of the GOP field will dog pile on them. The end result of course is that nobody goes after Mitt Romney, who is getting off really easy. I expect people are going to go after Cain now.

Tomorrow is going to be bizarre.  Everyone but Romney will jump on Cain, who will ignore them and go after Romney, who will ignore him and go after Obama.  Who will ignore the field and go after the GOP congress...

Nah it was a joke, but I didn't mean for the joke to get in the way of an actual thread, or for people to mistake this simply as a "joke thread". Hence, "bad title".
