It's really become an issue that most people just don't care about...

Why is this happening? Are people realizing Nixon's War On Drugs is mostly a failure?

I think figures for East are off by about same margin, but towards the other side. I would expect legalization to receive a little more support on the East Coast.

Actually, compared to the numbers from the west and the south, the numbers for the east seem about right. The midwest is what seems off. The west is definitely more progressive on this issue than any other region. And this is more true for Marijuana legalization than it is for Gay Marriage, where the East is just as progressive, if not more. The east is a little bit authoritarian when it comes to "law and order" issues.

You mean the same area that produced fine gentlemen like Chuck Schumer?

Strange how it failed on the November ballot last year here in California.
Anyways, Obama seems to be against even medicinal marijuana. It's one of many issues that he is in the conservative minority on.

I think that East should be closer to the West than the South. Midwest should be Closer to south than West.

The east is closer to the west than the south though. 44% support in the south, 51% in the east and 55% in the west. Everything looks good, until you look at the midwest results.

We must hold the line. The public's ignorance on policy is well recorded, and shouldn't be given hasty credence.

Who is "we" Ke-mo sah-bee and perhaps those who are "we" are the ignorant ones who we should give no credence to?

Yes, the public has been ignorant since the 1930's. Good to see they are finally opening their eyes.
