I think Republicans get Ohio and maybe get Florida. Depends on the candidate, how the Republican governors in those states do, etc.

I don't understand why people think that people will vote Democrat just because they disapprove of a Republican governor. "I'm going to vote against Mitt Romney, who hasn't held political office in five years, because he's a member of the same party as my terrible Republican governor, John Kasich/Rick Scott."

I'm with Cathcon here. As much as I'd like it to be otherwise, the Governors will play a fairly minimal role, all things considered.

I think you mixed up the vote totals for FL-2000.

I think he used a revisionist form of history for these Florida results.  This site (David Leip's) has it as 2,912,790  for Bush, 2,912,253 for Gore.

Of course, folks will argue about Florida and 2000 for a hundred years, but the totals that were counted are those I cited.

Your right I didn't add the last county, Washington county, for Bush. I then went back to the Florida State Elections website to double check.

here is the website enight.dos.state.fl.us/downloadresults.asp?ElectionDate=11/7/2000&DATAMODE=

here are the new numbers I doubled checked.

2000   Bush               Gore
total           2,911,215       2,911,417
Percent    50                   50

People HATE Crist in Florida, who is a Republican which means I would give Florida to Obama. I would make Ohio a total toss up, but also leaning Obama if Unemployment drops below 9% by election day.
